Our God is a Great Big God!

Let us see lives....

rooted and built up in Him and established in the faith 2 Colossians 2:7 (NKJV)

My church (Wellington Road) boundary wall has crumbled and will need rebuilding; this reminds me of the sinful soul. The walls that we have built separate us from the Saviour and they need to come down. We can only do that by repenting and believing in Jesus.

On July 31st we will, in LCM, take around 30 or more children away to the Lake District for our Annual Summer Camp. Children have many issues and often build walls around them.

We pray that this week will be an opportunity, by God’s grace, to break these walls down and see children come to know Jesus Christ as their Saviour.

Please pray with us the points below:-

  • That even now each child going is already having an encounter with Jesus.
  • Pray for each vital team member that their hearts are focussed on their task.
  • Pray for safety in travel and during the activities on the campsite.
  • Pray that the children will show good behaviour and respect to their leaders and each other.
  • Pray for good weather.
  • Pray for all the children and particularly for those going for the first time.
  • Specifically pray that the Gospel message is preached and that God will add His blessing to it, and all that takes place through the week.

Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful. And pray for us....

Colossians 4:2-3(NIV)

I have read a book recently called On wings of prayer- praying the ACTS way by Reggie Weems.

We often find it hard to know what & how to pray, and end up praying shopping list prayers. Using the acrostic ACTS is a good guide. A for adoration, C for confession, T for thanksgiving and S for supplication (requests). Biblical prayers often follow this pattern which is helpful. It focuses our prayers back to God and away from ourselves.

This all became very real to me recently when I came to the decision to leave my role as Cafe manager with the Mission when Stan my husband retires as Chief Executive in August. Consequently the daytime cafe in Mount Pleasant will close at the end of July, for the time being.

Please pray for the Committee as they seek to appoint a new Mission Director and decide on the future of the daytime cafe.

Prayer is a privilege that only children of God have, the undivided attention of their Heavenly Father, the Creator and Sustainer of the universe. Prayer shouldn’t be a duty, although it needs discipline and is a vital part of developing our relationship with God the Father, through the Son with the help of the Holy Spirit. As we focus on who God is and what He has done for us, it helps us to remember what we are and how we need to bring our will in line with His.
