A THOUGHT FROM OUR CHAIRMAN…….Ralph Bunnagar

“To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven”
(Ecclesiastes Ch.3 v 1.)

I recently had to have a major operation - a quadruple heart bypass - on 2ndJanuary and had to wait until the 25th February to start driving again! This meant that I had a lot of time to sit at home and find things to do to pass the time of day! However I did  manage to get out sometimes but only with the help of many friends to whom I am most grateful for supplying lifts etc. I am also truly grateful for all of the many prayers which helped me through the operation, thank you all for them.

I asked the Lord for a verse to encourage me prior to my operation and he gave me this lovely verse in Psalm 27 v 14. “Wait on the Lord: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the Lord.” What a wonderful Saviour we have!  The expression “Time and Tide waits for no man” also came to my mind and this reminded me that time is passing with every second of every hour. I asked myself the question “am I using this precious commodity to further God’s kingdom or am I just letting time slip by?” How much time are we giving to the Lord?

A verse in Romans Ch. 13 v 11 comes to mind “Knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed.” How important it is that we use the time left before the Saviour returns, to spread His word at every opportunity.
